Cars in Germany's Town Found Covered with Swastikas in Blood, Law Enforcement State

Approximately fifty cars have been marked with what seems to be blood from a person in the Germany's municipality of Hanau close to Frankfurt, as reported by police.

Cars, walls and postboxes were defaced, sometimes with Nazi symbols, they stated in a release.

Officers report they were contacted during the night on Wednesday evening, when a individual observed that a automobile in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been marked with a red-colored liquid.

The fluid had been placed in the form of a Nazi symbol, they added.

Police then located numerous other smeared vehicles and building exteriors in the adjacent neighborhood.

Swastikas are banned in Germany under regulations banning the public exhibition of symbols from the Nazi era.

Law enforcement say preliminary tests indicate the fluid was most likely blood from a person.

"Currently there is no clue as to its origin; officials are not yet cognizant of any physical harm in association with the incident," they stated.

Municipal representatives said they were attempting "to resolve the incident" and have requested to the residents for tips.

An important political figure commented the incident made him stunned and required to be solved quickly.

"This event strikes at the center of Hanau and reopens the wounds of the right-wing attack five years ago," he posted on online, referring to the death of nine victims by a assailant targeting people of immigrant origin in February 2020.
