Anthony Joshua prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight round contest which will be streamed live on Netflix.
British boxer Anthony Joshua stated he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "overpower" his opponent as the two fighters met personally to publicize next month's boxing match.
Ex two time world heavyweight champion Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a mammoth mismatch - at Miami Kaseya Center on December 19th.
Boxer's Mentality
"I plan to injure his face and damage his physique. I aim to demonstrate my superiority," Joshua, 35, declared.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I will seriously aim to hurt him. That's my goal."
Civil Interaction
Despite those words, a composed Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - normally famous for his theatrics - were respectful and kept it respectful with each other.
Jake Paul instead attacked former Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and described him as "not serious" after Ngannou turned down a fight offer.
Taking Aim at Fury
Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, criticized UK rival Tyson Fury - and declined a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a victory for Paul.
"Jake Paul outshines Fury - he showed up," Joshua commented.
"I give him credit for that."
Serious Opponent
In spite of saying he intends to damage his opponent, Joshua declined to speak negatively about his opponent's boxing ability.
"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he remarked.
Paul's Background
Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has primarily fought MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since becoming pro.
He lost to British fighter Fury in last year.
Financial Success
Nevertheless, the relative newcomer is still one of the sport's biggest commercial attractions, consistently making huge paydays.
Prediction and Confidence
The 28 year old predicted a knockout win in the fourth or fifth round and stated he would prevent the much-anticipated Joshua–Fury fight, which is apparently under discussion for two years from now.
"It's going to be me versus Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul declared.
Physical Difference
As the two fighters engaged in the traditional face-off, with their physical disparity evident, it emphasized just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how amazing it is that the match is truly happening.
