Nineteen of Medvedev's 21 titles have been won on hardcourt
A comeback Daniil Medvedev won his maiden title for 882 days with a win over Frenchman Moutet in the competition title decider.
Medvedev, a ex- number one, has had a difficult season, achieving just one win at the Grand Slams and suffering a difficult moment at the American major.
Medvedev's unpredictability on the professional circuit - and difficulties with his service game in particular - caused him falling of the world's top 10 and eventually splitting with former coach Gilles Cervara.
Now training with Johansson and his other coach, he has steadily progressed in the recent weeks - climaxing in a tightly fought three-set triumph over opponent Moutet.
It is Medvedev's maiden championship after the 2023 Rome Masters and first on a hardcourt from spring of the previous year.
The win also indicates Medvedev has won 21 championships at twenty-one distinct tournaments.
"This marks the first occasion I'm at a event with my both daughters simultaneously, so to win a championship is really nice," commented ranked player Daniil Medvedev.
"This title is in honour of my second daughter Victoria, because the initial championship I got when my child Alisa was born was for her."
Medvedev, the past champion, had lost his last six finals, including in Halle earlier this year.
His retrieving approach and recurring reactions on court had caused some to doubt if his capacity to perform at the top level was concluded.
Yet the 29-year-old has implemented adjustments in the last few weeks, striving to advance forward and play positively, backed up by an better serve.
He recovered from a break down in the initial set against the tricky Frenchman, winning 4 of the last five points to take the lead.
The pair exchanged break points in the second set before the Frenchman, striving for his initial professional victory, took control to create a third set.
He rescued four early break points in a tight final set before Medvedev secured a break to fifteen to close out the victory.
Fittingly, he clinched the win with a rally at the net area, with the Frenchman failing to control a return after over two and a half hours.
